This is the terrific kind of "thinking on an angle" that you do so well - and comes at a time when I've been reading Laurie Beth Jones' THE PATH. Thanks for adding to my smoldering woodpile of critical idea.

This post reminded me of the exchange between Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghost of Marley from Charles Dickens
``But you were always a good man of business, Jacob,'' faultered Scrooge, who now began to apply this to himself.

``Business!'' cried the Ghost, wringing its hands again. ``Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence, were, all, my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!''

It is just a reminder. The post really is something for us to chew on and I am grateful that you Al are back blogging.
